Sarah Palin was right about the death panels

By Thomas Sowell

There was a time when rushing a thousand-page bill through Congress so fast that no one has time to read it would have provoked public outrage. But now, this has been attempted twice in the first 6 months of a new administration.

The fact that they got away with it before, with the "stimulus" bill, may have led them to believe that they could get away with it again.

But the first bill simply spent hundreds of billions of dollars. The current "health care" bill threatens to take life-and-death decisions out of the hands of individuals and their doctors, transferring those decisions to Washington bureaucrats.

I've seen some really bad ideas come out of  Washington over the last few years, many of them in the form of regulation and statute.  The "Health Care Reform" bill is at the top of the list.

Health care doesn't need to be reformed, it is the way it is paid for that needs a serious overhaul.  Sadly the clowns in DC are not up to the task.  If you like the IRS, the EPA and OSHA, you'll love Obama care.

Andrew Klavan has drunk the kool-aid too and is now derailing public discussion.

Of course, I'm being facetious. I don't have an axe to grind against Sen. M, but she needs to be held accountable for her non-ideas in health care. She needs to change what policies she supports or she will lose reelection. She is demotivating her base.

Mr. Sowell, didn't you get the memo? You are derailing the real public discussion with your extremist comments!

Those counselors that would be coming to your home are only there to help you set up a living will and other nice things like that.

We'll have to put Mr. Sowell in touch with Sen. Murkowski. She'll be able to set him straight.

Once you let them in the door, the quality of your life lies in their hands. Are you blind or brainwashed? The problem with your argument, is you want to extort from me to get what you want. Yes I know extort is a strong word because in its definition it has to be against the law. So show me in our constitution where is it  law?

that Jacobs post was supposed to be sarcasm.

And a national joke.
